Watch the share the Valley View Hot Springs video!

This is a short film I shot 2-3 years ago. I finally got around to editing it.

Now, I live near these hot springs, in my favorite mountain resort town, Breckenridge, Colorado.

At the time, I was missing Colorado after moving from here to Washington State, then back to my hometown of Wichita, Kansas. This time, I'm exactly where I want to be and I'm not leaving!

One of the many great things about Colorado is that you can literally be physically active and outdoors nearly every day of the year. The Winters have dry air and they are much less harsh than the freezing rain, humidity, and wind of the Midwest Winters.

Summers are so amazing here. The dry arid climate is met with a daily shower that usually lasts an hour or less. Before and after the shower(s) there will be blue skies.

The dry air makes the heat much more mellow than the same temperature in a more humid climate. At the same time, The hottest months hardly justify an air conditioner. In fact, many of the nicest homes in the mountains are made without air conditioning because it is just not necessary.

Back to the hot springs - This place is great! One can stay up and soak all night if they are staying in a cabin, dorm bed or camping. There are also caves with indigenous bats and several hiking trails.

Valley View Hot Springs is an off-grid facility. It uses the natural geothermal energy to produce electricity and even add additional heat to a few of the hot spring pools.

This hot springs, like many of the non-commercialized natural hot springs in Colorado is clothing-optional. Visitors should feel completely comfortable staying covered by their bathing suit if they prefer. Inappropriate behavior is not tolerated, and it is not hard to find some seclusion... That being said, this is not the place for those who have issues with the exposed human body if they can't get past it.

Drone Footage - Breckenridge Colorado, Keystone, Lake Dillon

Drone Footage - Breckenridge Colorado, Keystone, Lake Dillon

Enjoy our first aerial drone video of Summit County, Colorado.

This footage was taken in Spring of 2015. We refer to this time of year as "mud season" for obvious reasons.

I have decided to wait until mud season is over before shooting any more Breckenridge drone videos. The reason is: The mountains are beautiful year round, but they are much more beautiful when the ground is either covered in snow, the vegetation is in bloom and green, or the fall colors are prevalent.

The footage in this video was taken in Breckenridge, on the Keystone ski slope (Area 51 park) and around the Dillon Reservoir.

We plan on producing dozens more beautiful videos of outdoors places and activities in the mountains of Colorado. Initially, we will focus on Summit County and surrounding areas, but as time passes, the geography of our Colorado Mountain Videos will expand.

Make sure to check back often for new outdoors videos, as well as snowboarding, skiing, and other action sports videos.
